Congratulations to Our National Walking Day PSA Contest Winners!

We’re thrilled to announce TWO Heart Clubs Winners of the National Walking Day PSA contest!

While we originally planned to select just one winner, these two submissions stood out in such unique and compelling ways that we decided to celebrate each as a winner in their own category—highlighting excellence across different formats and storytelling approaches.

Best Short-Form Video:
Congratulations to Chatsworth Charter High School in CA for their reel-style video that stood out for its powerful message about the importance of staying active for both mental and physical well-being.

Best Narrative Video:
Congratulations to Deep Run High School in VA who impressed us with a story-driven piece that emphasized not just the value of being active, but also the importance of connecting with others to get moving.

Discussion topic: Your Heart Needs you Now!

New research is showing us that one of the most important questions teenagers and young adults can consider is: How can I improve my heart health? That’s because, by age 18, many people already have heart disease risk factors, including high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol and Type 2 diabetes. That means that young adulthood is a critical time to address and lower the risk of heart disease.

Read this new scientific statement and use these suggested questions to discuss your thoughts:

  1. What part of this research surprised or hit home for you the most?
  2. What makes it hard to stay healthy at our age, and how can we work around those challenges?
  3. What’s one small action we can start today to protect our heart health long-term?

April is National Move More Month!

Walking is one of the simplest ways to boost mood, reduce stress and improve heart health- and the benefits start immediately!
